I could not be more excited to share today’s post! My mission this summer is to find a new apprecitation for the town I live in – Tucson, Arizona. Despite the awful heat (it’s going to hit 115° on Monday 😥) there are some cool places here worth visiting, and I want to try and find them + share them on the blog over the next couple months.
First up is the Mercado San Agustin, which is the cutest public marketplace a few miles outside of downtown. It has bakeries, restaurants, and one of my favorite coffee shops, Presta!
The mercado is a series of shops & restaurants all connected in one rectangular building with a large courtyard in the middle. There are events held in the courtyard as well as a farmer’s market each week! I think it’s so pretty and sometimes forget I’m in Tucson when I’m here.
I love Presta’s iced vanilla latte with their homemade vanilla syrup. Of course I had to get a pastry as well – I picked a traditional Mexican sweet bread from La Estrella bakery, which is connected by a door inside through Presta. (They also make the BEST tortillas in town!)
I love to meet up with friends here for coffee, or spend time working or journaling. It’s such a relaxing atmosphere to just sit for hours. (Of course, it’s not that great to sit outside during summer, but inside is really nice too!)
And that’s the Mercado San Agustin! Click here to find out more about what’s here on their website.

I also want to give a shoutout to my brother Jason for taking the pictures for this post. He is a newbie photographer, but as you can tell he’s already amazing! Check out his Instagram to see how cool he is!
