Last week I stopped by a new spot in Tucson that I’ve heard so many good things about! Welcome Diner opened last summer and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in an original 1960s diner building.
The menu has a wide range of diner-style comfort food with a modern and southern twist. Everything is made from scratch with the best local ingredients, which is amazing!
The building (located on Broadway just east of downtown) has been the home of various restaurants over the years, but when Welcome took over, it was restored to its former glory along with some modern updates. Now it’s the perfect blend of edgy and retro, and definitely a unique Tucson eatery worth visiting!
It was a rainy monsoon afternoon and the diner was the perfect cozy spot to hide away from the storm. My old high school friend Shannon (who happens to be an amazing photographer) was in town, so what better way to catch up than going to Welcome Diner and also getting some awesome pictures?
Although I only had a snack (french fries and Dr. Pepper – my guilty pleasures), the whole menu looked amazing and I can’t wait to go back and try some of the main dishes. (Shannon had the mac and cheese which she said was delicious!)
